And Then They Came for Me is a unique experience for students and adults…a multimedia play that combines videotaped interviews with Holocaust survivors Eva Geiringer Schloss and Ed Silverberg with live actors recreating scenes from their lives as teenagers during WW ll. Ed was Anne Frank’s first boyfriend. Eva was the same age and lived across from Anne in Amsterdam until she and her family were arrested by the Nazis and sent to concentration camps. More than 1.25 million people were killed in Auschwitz-Birkenau where Eva and her family were sent. Part oral history, part drama action, part remembrance, this play brings to life what happened after The Diary of Anne Frank ends. The ensemble-driven play breaks new ground and has been acclaimed by audiences and critics in world-wide productions

All parts are multi-roles playing teenagers who age 5 years throughout the play and adults, so we are looking for adult actors with a theatre acting skill set:

Roles:

  • Anne Frank (12-15 yrs old) / Elfriede Geiringer (mid 30s) FEMALE

  • Eva Geiringer (11-15 yrs old) / Ed’s mother (mid 30s) FEMALE

  • Heinz Geiringer (12 – 18 yrs old) / Hitler Youth (12 – 19 yrs old) / Ed’s father (mid 30s) / Nazi guard MALE

  • Ed Silberberg (12 - 18 yrs old) / Erich Geiringer (mid 30s) / Nazi guard MALE

After an enforced break due to Covid, the production is about to head into its 5th year of touring. You can read more about us by exploring this website. This is an opportunity to be part of an entirely fresh cast, making the production your own and forming a close company dynamic. You will perform in schools and theatres on an adhoc basis based around company availability. The roles would suit politically engaged, ensemble actors with a passion for social theatre and outreach, who are keen to be part of a company and really get involved in any aspect of production that they feel they can add to. We are an open, committed, supportive company.

The show averages one or two bookings per month and we would love to cast company members who are interested in being part of the production for a year at least.

Pay rate: Schools performances fee: £60 per performance for bookings within a 100 mile radius of Bristol, £100 per performance for bookings further afield. Theatre bookings are paid on a profit-share basis. Accommodation is provided where overnight stays are necessary. Travel expenses for performances are paid.

‘After the war, people said it would never happen again, and people didn’t want to talk about it—it was something that happened, let’s forget about it, now we live in a different life. What’s happening now in Bosnia and what’s happening in many other places…we’re still doing the same thing and again the world just looks on.’ - Eva Schloss
